The Challenge: |
The brief was to tell the story of a woman in a synthetic world wearing wool. The world briefed was artificial and grey while she lived in a wooden house. |
The Solution: |
We came up with the idea to create a neon Soviet Futurism style. We found locations in Eastern Europe that worked for this brief and shot there. We flooded these locations with neon and colour to create a visual spectacle that looked equal parts artificial and decaying. We also changed the character’s journey so that she begins as part of the artificial world and rediscovers wool. Therefore we changed the location of her home - instead of a wooden house, we gave her a cramped, dinghy, artificial looking brutalist apartment. |
